Donald Leon Chapman, Moore resident, passed away August 21, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 85.
He was born January 13, 1934 In Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Velton and Ruby (Bray) Chapman. Donald enlisted in the US Air Force on July 23, 1951. He received an honorable discharge on December 14, 1953.
Donald married Elsie Elliott and she preceded him in death.
Donald was one of the hardest working people you could ever meet. He worked as a brick layer for many years and was known as the best brick layer in town. He enjoyed gardening, painting and playing the guitar.
Survivors include his daughter, Misty Rojas; son, William Chapman; step-children, Regina Medsger, Dolores Matthews, Ronald Elliott and Christopher Potts; one sister, Johnice; 18 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Velton and Ruby and brothers and sisters, VL, Shelby, Bobby and Hilda.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at OK Cremation and Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK. Serving as pallbearers will be William Chapman, Christopher Potts, Ronald Elliott, Fernando Rojas, Fernando Rojas, Jr. and Ronald Matthews.
Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home.
