Billy Ray Scruggs

Billy Ray Scruggs, age 60 and a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born in Exeter, CA on October 23, 1956, born to Ruby Carter and Truman Scruggs. He passed away June 11, 2017 at his home. Services to be held at Ft. Sill. Wednesday, June 21st, at 1:00 PM.
Billy served in the United States Navy, earning the National Defense Service Metal before his honorable discharge. He then went onto building his career with a plastics company as an Injection Mode Engineer. He relocated to Alabama and California, throughout his years working at the plastic's factory. Finally settling here in Oklahoma, his home state where he spent most of his life. He was very dedicated to his job.
Billy loved spending time with his family. He also loved camping and fishing. He had an enormous passion for dirt bike riding and motorcycling. Billy spend many weekends with his girls and family out a Lake Draper and other places dirt bike riding, he taught his girls to ride dirt bikes at very young ages, so they could also share with him the love of riding.
Billy had a passion of fixing things that had broken. He was always working on some small household item that had broken. His moto was "I can fix that". He loved teaching his girls to work on trucks and cars. He didn't want them to ever be stranded anywhere he would say.
Billy enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He had many friends from all walks of life, he never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, a nephew and his sister Venus.
Billy is survived by his four daughters, Brandy, Sharon, Windy and Alesha. Twelve grandchildren; Briana, Taylor, Jesse, Rachel, Ashley, Michael, Bailey, Dakota, Grace, Ethan, Lexi and Brooke. Two brothers and their wives, James Scruggs and Rusty Long. And one sister Jeanie Snow. And many nieces and nephews, who lovingly called him "Uncle Billy."
He will be forever loved in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
