On Sunday, April 25th, 2021, Bonnie Sue Brooks, at the age of 76, passed from this world.
A come-and-go informal Celebration of Life will be held near her rose garden at 3 pm May 1, 2021 at 16815 SE 59th Street, Choctaw, Ok. for friends and family to visit with each other and remember Bonnie.
Bonnie was born May 1, 1944, in Los Angeles, California to Virgil and Mildred Pinney. She was the youngest of 4 children. Bonnie married Wilfred James “Jim” Brooks on June 30, 1962 in Socorro, New Mexico.
Bonnie was a homemaker and was known for her love of animals and growing flowers and gardening. She would make pets of squirrels and orphaned baby wild rabbits. She loved having her goats, chickens, pigs, pigs, geese, and quail. Basically, she loved to have around her any animal who did not harm her other animal friends. She had a “green thumb” and grew wonderful vegetable and herb gardens as well as a large variety of flower plants, shrubs and trees. Bonnie loved being “Granny” to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and anyone who needed a Granny. Bonnie was also known for sewing patchwork quilts for her family and friends.
Bonnie is preceded in her death by her husband of 58 years, Wilfred “Jim” Brooks; parents Virgil and Mildred Pinney; brother, Eddie Pinney; and her oldest son, Billy.
Bonnie is survived by her brother Herb Pinney; sister Nancy Kendall and her husband Clyde; sister Ann Cloud and her husband John; children Jerry Brooks; Gary Brooks and his wife Denise; Mark Brooks and his wife Autumn; and Lynn Brooks; Becky Sandefur and her husband Joel; Debbie Lloyd and her husband Brian; and Christi Rose. She is also survived by his grandchildren; Casey Hoffman and his wife Cherokee; Monte Brooks; Ryan Brooks; Ky Sandefur; AnnMarie Lundberg and her husband Kyle; Ashley Daniel and her husband Cody; Danielle Rose; Elizabeth Lloyd; Dakota Brooks; Alan Lloyd; Shelby Brooks; Megan Brooks; Peter Lloyd; Alyssa Brooks; and Zachary Rose; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Donna Ward and her husband Lawrence; brother-in-law Larry Brooks and his wife Alice; and many well-loved nieces and nephews.
