Charles Edward Welk

Charles Welk, 84, a lifelong resident of the Bethel community passed away on June 15, 2019 after a long illness.

He was born on September 19, 1934 to Gussie and Merle (Henderson) Welk in Bethel, OK.  He graduated from Bethel High School in 1954.  He retired from Shawnee Public Schools where he worked as a bus driver.

He is survived by three children:  Sherri Hastings, Mike Welk and his wife Trina, and Trisha Taron and her husband Terry; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  In addition, he is survived by a sister, Ruth Franklin and Shorty Kinnamon, several nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children, Lotus Welk.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Seckel.
