Cherri Lou Tussey, 84, died peacefully in her sleep on July 31th, 2025.
Cherri was born in Borger, TX on May 13th, 1942, to Frank and Etta Sager. She was the youngest of 2 siblings. She met the love of her life, Ron Tussey, and they were united in marriage on October 30th, 1956, in Olney, Illinois, and had 5 children between the years of 1957-1975. Cherri resided in Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the last 48 years and spent many years working in the cafeteria at Skyline Elementary, Stillwater Middle School cafeteria, and Westwood Elementary, where she was adored by all the children, until she retired. After retirement she continued working at Sterling house and volunteering in the nursery at Bible Baptist church.
Above all, Cherri loved God as well as her family and friends. She and Ron were members of Bible Baptist Church since 1977, and she loved her church family. She enjoyed spending time with the members of the Gems class. She loved sewing, quilting, puzzles, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron Tussey, her son John Tussey, and her grandson William Robert "Bert" Kaiser.
Cherri is survived by her sister Carolyn Winkler, her daughters Debbie Tussey, Betsy Tussey, Alice Egleston and husband Bob, and son Jack Tussey, eight grandchildren Missy Kaiser, Derrick Kaiser and wife Amy, Emily Looper and husband Chris, Taylor Decker, Lauren Egleston and husband Tom Aguilar, Jake Egleston and wife Zoie Perry, Tyler Egleston, Walter Egleston, and Wade Egleston; eleven great-grandkids Logan Kaiser, Atlanta McPherson and her husband Chandler, Bella Kaiser, Ethan Kaiser, Collin Kaiser, Dane Speaker, Isaiah Kaiser, Maverick Looper, Aurelia Looper, Elijah Kaiser, and McKenna Speaker.
Cherri was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her sense of humor, her witness to others of God’s salvation, her willingness to help people, and her giving heart will always be remembered.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the Bible Baptist church, 115 N Young St. Stillwater, OK 74075.
