Connie Lee McBride, 72, departed her mortal vessel at her home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, February 6th, 2020 following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Connie leaves her husband, Patrick McBride; her son, Zakary McBride; her granddaughter, Faith McBride; her brother, Jim Taylor; her nephews, Jimbo and Brice Taylor, many extended family members and numerous adopted children and grandchildren.
Connie was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in June of 1947 to Leslie and Betty Jo Taylor. She went on to live in many places and have many adventures but found her forever home in Oklahoma City.
Connie was a manicurist for many years, until she fell in love with the medical field where she loved the interaction with people and the opportunity to help.
Connie was an avid gardener and photographer. She learned to love boxing from her father who was a boxer. Nutella and Braums Ice Cream was a daily staple for Connie. It wasn’t very often that you would see her without a Nutella spoon in her proximity. Connie by herself consumed gallons and gallons of both, improving and single-handedly carrying the Braums and Nutella brands to all time sales records. Some would say the cancer treatments helped Connie extend her life, we would wager that it was most likely a combination of Nutella and sheer unwavering will!
Connie was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Barker Taylor, her mother, Betty Jo (Walker) Taylor and a son, Nicholas.
