Corey Shane Hudson

December 2, 1975 — April 1, 2026

Corey Shane Hudson, longtime Seminole County resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 in Seminole, OK at the young age of 50. Corey was born on December 2, 1975 in Shawnee, OK to Gilbert Lee and Kathy (Stokes) Hudson. He was a true 80’s child growing up playing with He-Man action figures and watching The A Team. Corey played football in high school, and his friends would tell him, ‘it didn’t matter if he was on offense, you hit him first or he was going to hit you’. Corey graduated from Butner High School in Cromwell, OK.

After high school, Corey went to Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech and studied to be a Diesel Technician. He later said being a diesel mechanic wasn’t for him, so he began working as a roughneck in the oilfields, He later worked as a carpenter and swimming pool technician and had been self-employed with Precise Construction. Corey was good with his hands and could do anything. He would often be asked to work on his family’s cars or do other things around the house. Whatever needed to be fixed, Corey made it happen.

Corey was a simple man. He drove the same blue truck for over 16 years, wore the same tank top, shorts and boots combo almost every day. He had the best music taste. He would listen to anything from AC-DC, Nirvana to The White Stripes. One day he got to go to the Hank Williams, Sr. Museum and had an affinity for Hank ever since. Corey played the guitar with his brother Chris and close to him until his untimely death in 2005.

Corey was known to say, “I don’t wanna be rich”. Corey enjoyed a good Clint Eastwood movie, a hard day’s work and a cold beer. He didn’t talk about his emotions much, but when he did, they were big! When he got mad, he really got mad! But at the same time when he loved you, he really loved you! He loved his family and friends more than words can say.

Surviving Corey is his daughter, Riverz Apollonia Hudson; mother, Kathy (Stokes) Hudson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Corey was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Lee Hudson; brother, Christopher Lee Hudson; cousin, Travis Danker; grandparents, Wesley Coy & Sammy Lou (Smith) Hudson and James Hubert and Ella Mae (Whitlow) Stokes.
