Cris Allen Mason

Cris Allen Mason passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 in his sleep at his residence in Del City at the age of 57.

He was born September 22, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to W.L. “Bill” Mason and Beverly (Sims).

Cris graduated from Newcastle High School in 1977. He worked as a swimming pool builder for several years. Cris loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He also enjoyed watching baseball and Nascar. His greatest joy was his grandchildren. Cris loved his family and friends very much.

He is survived by his son, Tristan Buford and granddaughter, Kailey of Moore; step-daughter, Lindsey Smedley and other grandchildren, Makenzi, Kylie, Jenna, Kamdyn and Jacob; three brothers, Larry Porter and wife Diana of Moore, Carlos Wood and wife Andi of Newcastle and Bobby Wood and wife Kim of Newcastle; one sister, Angela Wood and wife Judy; step-mother, Delma Mason of Liberty, MO and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, W.L. Mason and Bob Wood, mother, Beverly Wood and one brother, Robert Mason.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Newcastle with Phillip Jones officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Wood, Larry Porter, Jr, Dalton Porter, Shay James, Jeff Armstrong and Newman Deaville. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19 from 2:00PM-7:00 PM at OK Cremation Funeral Home Chapel.

Per Cris’s wishes, he wanted to have a short and simple service. Please do not feel obligated to attend but just take a minute and reflect on a moment that we may have shared together and enjoy the day.

Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
