Daniel "Dan" Lee Vest

Daniel “Dan” Lee Vest, longtime Meeker and Shawnee area resident, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at his residence in Shawnee at the age of 67.

Dan was born September 6, 1956 in Costa Mesa, California to Leonard L. and Noma Mae (Butler) Vest. He graduated from Earl Wooster High School in Reno, Nevade in June 1974. Dan worked for a major grocery store chain and later moved to Oklahoma with his family in 1983. They settled on a 10-acre homeplace halfway between Meeker and Prague.

Dan loved to read, watch good movies, listening to music, sing (he had a really good singing voice that he shared with just a very few people), play games and talking with friends. Dan took care of his mother at their home until she passed away in 2007.

Survivors include one sibling, Rachel Marie Vest; niece and nephew, several cousins and a host of dear friends.

Dan was also preceded in death by his father Leonard in 1980.
