David Ray Morgan

December 3, 1951 — July 8, 2023

Wetumka

David Ray Morgan passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 8, 2023, at age 71. His body was weakened but his sharp sense of humor, handsomeness, and kind loving heart remained throughout his long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

David was born on December 3, 1951, to Cecil and Noka (Franks) Morgan in Wetumka, OK. He was a 1970 graduate of Wetumka High School where he was salutatorian of his class. He was a delegate of Oklahoma Boys State and a member of the Oklahoma National Guard.

On May 22, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Brenda Osborn Morgan. Together they raised two daughters, Julie and JoLynn. Their 53 year union was an inspiration to many – especially his two girls and grandchildren who he adored. During his long and successful career in the oil equipment industry, David and Brenda relocated to Odessa, TX, Shawnee, OK, and Madison, KS - making many special friends along the way. They made their way back home to Wetumka after his retirement.

David had great joy and pride in his loving relationships as husband, father, father-in law, Papaw foster parent and Papaw, son-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend. His family who were blessed to know and love him remain to remember his legacy: wife Brenda Morgan of Wetumka, OK; daughter Julie (Dean) Murphy of Hogshooter, OK; daughter JoLynn (Charles) Noe of Lexington, KY. Grandchildren: Frank Pool, TX, Libby (Steven) Kelly, IA, Madolyn (Antonio) Pool Lazcano, Bartlesville, OK, Carlie Pool, Norman, OK, Parker Noe, Lexington, KY, Morgan Noe, Lexington, KY, Joshua Noe, Memphis, IN, Robert Noe, Memphis, IN, Jeremiah (Kalea) Noe, Lexington, KY and great-grandchildren Jackson, Rosie, and Marlowe.

He is also survived by a big family of siblings, in-laws and out-laws, nieces and nephews. Brothers and sister, Stanley Morgan, Alan Morgan, Marcus Morgan, Michael Morgan, Morris Morgan, and Lynn Meek; brothers in law, Randy {Susie} Osborn and Jeff {Thomasene} Osborn.

David cherished his loved ones.

His family extends deep gratitude for his compassionate caregivers and staff at Colonial Park Manor Home in Okemah, OK. A memorial service and celebration of his wonderful life will be held at First Baptist Church, Wetumka, OK on Saturday, July 29, at 5 pm. Expressions of sympathy can be shared to 2325 N. 381, Wetumka, OK, 74883, or to the First Baptist Church at the time of his service.
