Don Howard Head, longtime Oklahoma City resident, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 82. He was born November 22, 1934 in Knoxville, Arkansas to Howard Edward and Zoe Pauline (Vinson) Head. After high school Don enlisted in the US Army on August 7, 1959. While in the Army, Don took up boxing and was named “Boxing Tutor” of the 2nd US Army Missile Command boxing program. He won the Arkansas state titles in both Golden Gloves and AAU Champion. After receiving an honorable discharge on January 2, 1962, Don went into the car business. He worked in Arkansas, California and later in Oklahoma where he retired in 2009 due to health issues. He enjoyed watching the Arkansas Razorbacks football program, playing golf, watching old westerns on TV and spending time with his fur baby, Phoebe.

Don is survived by his wife, Jean of the home; one brother, Joe Head; daughter, Leslie Kelly; two step-sons, Gary Norman and Pat Norman; five grandchildren, Cody, Jaden, Bobbie, Ashley and Paige; four nephews, three nieces; great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Head; mother, Zoe Lord; and a brother, James Head.
