On Wednesday, April 7th, 2021, Dortha “Dodie” Louise Walston, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 58. Dodie was born July 22, 1962 in Southern California to Kathleen and Burt Mainard. Dodie was preceded in death by her father, Burt, her mother, Kathy and eldest son, Bradley.
On November 3, 1979, she married John Randy Walston. They raised three sons, Edward, Tommy and David. She was proudly employed for Murphy’s USA in Seminole for nine years. She studied at the University of Florida for Certification of Dietary Management. She served her church and community by ministering to those suffering from addiction and leading many to sobriety for 8 plus years. Dodie had a passion for reading and fellowship and loved to worship Jesus Christ. She was a genuine listener and a shoulder to cry on. Her words of kindness and encouragement were admired not only by friends and family, but also by all who came into contact with her. She was a great friend to all. She enjoyed good music, games and was an avid film lover. Dodie was known for her quick wit, bold sense of humor, infectious smile, and her kind, compassionate spirit.
She is survived by her husband John, her three children, Ed, Tommy and David; her sisters, Jackie, Marianne and Dani; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 18th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Boomtown Playground Park in Seminole. Flowers or memorial donations may be sent to: 1325 Carson Dr. Seminole, OK 74868 or on her GoFundMe listed on her Facebook page.
