Eddy Fugett

Eddy C. Fugett was born on October 4, 1956, to Willie Fugett and Eloise Fugett Ponds in Geneva, Oklahoma. As a young child, Eddy was adopted by his grandmother, Betty Fugett, who played an important role in his upbringing. Eddy graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1974 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. In 1988, he was honorably discharged and returned home to Spencer, Oklahoma.

After leaving the Army, Eddy worked at Tinker Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic while attending Francis Tuttle Nursing School. He earned his LPN and began a career in nursing, eventually working at the VA Hospital. Eddy was a phenomenal nurse who dedicated himself to caring for others. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards and accolades recognizing his compassion, skill, and commitment to his patients.

Eddy gave his life to Christ as a child and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Eddy loved the outdoors, where fishing was his favorite pastime. He also enjoyed singing and cooking and had a special love for dogs. These were among the simple joys that brought happiness to his life.

Eddy was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Fugett and Eloise Fugett Ponds, and his brothers, Willie Thompson, Larry Fugett, and Ronnie Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Paula Armstrong-Fugett of Oklahoma City; his children, Barry Fugett of Oklahoma City, Tanesha Fugett of Spencer, Aisha Fugett of Oklahoma City, Markisha Fugett of Midwest City, and Valesha Fugett of Spencer.

He also leaves his siblings, Charles Fugett (Petra) of Midwest City; Mary Fugett-Williams of Oklahoma City; Dr. Betty Orange of Helena, Arkansas; Mike Taylor (Tonya); Cheryl Tipton-Vaughn of Spencer; Shawn McBroom of Conyers, Georgia; Cecelia McBroom of Spencer; Carita McDaniel of Midwest City; and LeRay McBroom of Choctaw.

His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Selah Fugett, Micah Fugett, Moriah Fugett, Morinah Fugett, and Ezra Fugett, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, his family will carry his memory forward and hold close the moments of love the remained.
