Elmer Gene Bolt

Elmer Gene Bolt, Norman resident, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the age of 62.

Elmer was born July 26, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Shirley and Jack Bolt. He married Kimberly Owens in 1978 and they resided in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. To this union was a daughter, Katie Bolt.

Elmer accepted Christ and was saved at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1981. Elmer and Kimberly later divorced in 1982. Later the same year, Elmer met Cynthia Clay. To this union were four children.

Elmer later worked at Winslow’s Associates and Allied Plastics. He also worked at other various jobs until he became disabled in 2007. Elmer enjoyed playing bingo with his sisters and his mom, going on road trips and casino trips with his sister Wanda. He loved cooking out and loved having his famous Sunday morning breakfasts. Later in life, Elmer enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful provider for his family and would always lend a helping hand and never closed a door on anyone. He would always put others above himself.

Surviving Elmer are his children, Brittany Davidson and husband Daniel of Bowie, TX, Zachary Bolt of Bowie, TX, Katie Bolt of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Jaycob Clay, Samantha Davidson, Caleb Davidson, Zahara Bolt; sisters, Wanda Bolt of Moore, OK, Teresa Dean of Moore, OK, Sheri Bolt of Florida; Daniel Bolt of Oklahoma City, OK; favorite niece, Kristie Bolt; great-nephew, Brandon Bolt, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. 

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Shirley Bolt; sons, Ryan Clay and Christopher Bolt; brothers, Jack Bolt, Jerry Dean, Billy Bolt, nephew, Jerry “JJ” Dean and brother-in-law, Danny Johnson.

Memorial services for Elmer will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 at 1:00 PM at OK Cremation Funeral Home Chape, 2415 N. Walnut Ave, Oklahoma City.

Honorary bearers will be Matthew Murrow, Tony Clay, Kenny Dean, Daniel Johnson, Kevin Clay, Rebecca Johnson and Sara Johnson.
