Emmitt Anthony Cole Sr. (Tony Cole Sr.), was born April 18, 1954 to Coydell and Leola Gay-Cole. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and brother Coydell Jr.
Emmitt went to Garden Oaks Elementary, John F. Kennedy Jr. High and Douglass High School. Emmitt enlisted in the US Army on April 13, 1973 and received an honorable discharge on October 16, 1978. He was an avid member of the Douglass High School Class of 1972 where he served as chairman and still lovingly referred to as “Mr. President”. Emmitt worked and recently retired at MD Products after 37 years of service. He was a member of Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served many years as Sunday school teacher and filled in wherever and whenever he was asked. He was also a member of The Wild Horse Posse. Emmitt was a Master Mason of the King David Lodge. He was a roadie for the EJ Perry Ensemble. He loved hearing a good man talk (himself), being with family, being in the rodeo parades, having the greenest lawn, camping, fishing, traveling and all his TOYS.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Emmitt Jr (Camilla), Elton (Anita), Paul (Nicola), Marquess, sister Joyce, brother Carl, uncle Arnett, aunt Eva, host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, cousins and adopted family members, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church, 801 NE 5th St. in Oklahoma City.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 19 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at OK Cremation and Funeral Home Chapel, 2415 N. Walnut Ave, Oklahoma City.
Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home.
