Erik J Puusalu

Erik Joan Kristian Puusalu, 69, of Warr Acres, OK, passed away on Monday July 28th 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital.

He was predeceased by his parents, Erich Ferdinand Puusalu and Anne-Marie Voll Puusalu, and son Robert Erik Puusalu.

Erik is survived by his children, Emily Puusalu of Warr Acres OK, Katie of ID, Andrew Puusalu of NY, Jacob (Danielle) Puusalu of NY, Michael (Bokyung) Puusalu of TX, Mary (Danny) Puusalu of NY, Sara (Art) Baughman of MD, Nicholas Puusalu of DE, and Jonathon (Nikki) Puusalu-Seely of NY; sister, Dagmar (Robert) Johnson of Ada OK, niece, ILY Murdock of UT; his lifelong friends, Gene Fuller of UT, Tom Talley of Wellston OK, and Randy Wyrick of TX, and more; along with many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and everyone he met along the way.

Erik was born in Oldenburg, West Germany where he lived until the age of 4, after which he immigrated to the USA and ultimately graduated from Central State University which is now known as University of Central Oklahoma. Erik worked as a mechanic and in transportation before settling into a career at the IRS for 24 years and retired in 2009.

Erik is loved in every community he lived in for both his positive nature and general helpfulness. He would regularly be seen doing yardwork for the neighbors or helping fix their vehicles. His love of cars started with the VW Beetle, which grew into a collection of posters, Hot wheels, puzzles, and other memorabilia. Music was an important part of Erik’s day to day living, and he would share that with his friends and neighbors as well.
