Ervin Eugene Schatt 83, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Passed away on March 6, 2026, peacefully with family members by his side. Ervin was born to Ervin Walter Schatt and Gertrude Irene Harmon March 19, 1942, in Sandusky County, Ohio.

Ervin was raised by his mother and stepfather Kenneth Glassford in Woodville, Ohio. He attended Woodville High School in Woodville, Ohio until 1959. After high school Ervin enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky for basic training. In 1960, Ervin was stationed in Germany where he completed his GED. Ervin spent the next several years on post at various bases in the US, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines including a 7-month stent in Vietnam. From 1973-1976, Ervin was stationed in Lawton at Fort Sill where he met his wife Donna Brown through an Army buddy and lifelong friend John Brown. Ervin and Donna were married in 1975. Ervin completed his final years in the Army in Germany form 1977-1979. While in the Army, Ervin specialized in the area of neuropsychology as a psychometrist and also worked as a Clerk Typist. Ervin went on to complete a program for his commercial piloting license. Ervin also attended Cameron University, in Lawton, Oklahoma and received a degree in data processing. In 1979, Ervin received his Honorable Discharge with the title of Staff Sergeant. Ervin earned several medals during his service years in the Army which include the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in ground operations against hostile forces in Vietnam, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and a medal for Good Conduct. After his military service Ervin worked in the copier industry as a service technician and part owner of a copier service company in Oklahoma City. Ervin was also employed by the State of Oklahoma for part of his career in the copier industry. Ervin had a passion for fixing and working with electronic devices, he was very patient and could fix just about anything. He had a substantial collection of specialty tools that would get any job done. He was full of humor but could be very stubborn at times and he never met a stranger that he didn't get along with. Ervin had an extensive movie collection and loved his projector screen TV where he would watch several movies in a row. Ervin had a very unique taste for decorating. Just walking through his home, you would be amazed by his style.

Ervin is survived by his ex-spouse Donna Converse of Harrah, Oklahoma; daughters, Angela (Fred) Goetz of Oklahoma City, Denise Ross of Harrah Oklahoma; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Ervin will always be remembered for his quick humor and always willing to lend a hand of help to anyone.
