Ethel Lorene Senft passed away on March 22, 2024 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 94.
Ethel was born on January 22, 1930 to Thomas and Ethel Jackson near Cleveland, Texas. The family moved to a small town, Rock Creek, outside of Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1933. After her graduation from Shawnee High School, the family moved to Abilene, Texas. Lorene attended business college and lived in several states before settling in California as a Communication Specialist as a civilian working for the military. It was there that she met the love of her life, John Senft. Both John and Lorene were Communication Specialist and worked as top-secret coders deciphering military messages. They lived many years in Manteca, California before moving to Monahans, Texas to be closer to her sister, Anna, in 1995. Her beloved husband passed away on July 10, 1997. After the death of brother-in-law, Rudy, both Lorene and Anna moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to live closer to Anna’s daughter. Lorene lived alone in an independent living facility until her 94th birthday. She was an accomplished artist and loved painting ceramics and other mediums.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her brothers Charles, Kenneth, John, Ernest and her sister, Anna.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
