Gary Joe Conatser, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 17, 2025. Born in Perryton, Texas on April 26, 1964, Gary was the son of Hazel Mae (Panick) and Harley “Buddy” Conatser. He graduated from Seminole High School in the class of 1983, where he proudly played football.
On August 10, 1990, Gary married the love of his life, Tina Marie Anson, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, and together they built a beautiful family. Gary dedicated over 30 years of his career to Steve Hughes Construction, where he was known for his hard work and reliability.
Gary cherished his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed tinkering around the yard, gardening, and collecting rocks. A loyal fan, he passionately supported the OSU Cowboys and always rooted for any team playing against the Dallas Cowboys.
He was a man of strong character—known for being dependable and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Gary embraced life without a detailed plan, choosing instead to take each day as it came.
Gary is preceded in death by his loving wife, Tina Marie, both parents and his sister, Nelda Johnston. He is survived by his two sons, Brent and his wife Jeana of Sulphur, OK; Robby Conatser of Oklahoma City, OK; and his daughter Gabby and her fiancé Brett Houck of Seminole, OK. He was a proud grandfather to TJ and Joshua White, Azariah and Nehemiah Conatser-Houck.
Gary is also survived by his girlfriend, Lori McKinney, his mother-in-law, Donna Postman and her husband Rick of Maud, OK; his father-in-law, Christopher Anson and his wife Theresa of Konawa, OK; his siblings, Harley G. Conatser and his wife Teresa of Seminole, OK; Roger Conatser and his wife Lisa of Yukon, OK; Sherry Conatser of Ponca City, OK; and Karla Leonidou of Texas. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Christopher Anson Jr. and his wife Danielle; his sisters-in-law, Kelly Pierce of Seminole, OK; Sarah Hooser of Wanette, OK; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, located at Hwy 270 East of Seminole, OK. Services are under the direction of OK Cremation & Funeral Home, LLC in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
