Geraldine Wilson-Farmer

Jun 2, 1946 — Jul 8, 2026

Del City

On a warm June afternoon in 1946 a beautiful little Geraldine was born to Walter and Nadine Henderson.

She grew up in Northeast Oklahoma City where she lived with her parents, seven brothers, and sisters. She met and fell for Lawrence Breaux to which her oldest daughter Kellie was born. She later met and married Warren Wilson and they together had three more daughters; B. Marie, Laurene, Wylena, and a son Dante.

After parting ways with Warren and living many years as a single mother, Geraldine met and married Alvin Maxi Farmer. They were together for 11 blissful years until his passing in 2009.

In her everyday life, Geraldine loved making clothes for her girls and dressing them alike. Dante got to have a choice. She also enjoyed making quilts, sharing stories from her childhood and making home cooked meals for feeding any strays we kids brought home. And boy could she burn! Cabbage, potato salad, fried chicken and a simple homemade hamburger, those were some of her specialties. But she was a master of desserts. She made lemon cakes that would melt in your mouth, sweet potato pies, German chocolate cakes and a banana pudding that was like no other. Mama will truly be missed.

Geraldine was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. She never met a stranger. Her heart was filled with love and compassion for anyone in need. She accepted Christ at a young age following the example of her mother and father. She attended many congregations in her walk and found a home Living Waters Tabernacle under the leadership of Pastor Sam and Mary Woods in 1991. Mama loved God with all of her being and passed her wisdom and knowledge of Him to all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gerladine was the last living daughter of Walter and Nadine Henderson who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Alvin; sisters, Edith, Vivian, Laurene and Betty; brother, Leon and grandson, Roger Nathaniel Gwin-all waiting to receive her into Heaven.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Kellie (Michael) Henderson-McGinnis, Dante Wilson, B. Marie Wilson Richmond (Nakia Richmond aka "Kema"), Laurene Wilson and Wylena Wilson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike Henderson sr. and Johnnie Henderson, all of OKC. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
