Gloria Arline (Brock) McGuinness

September 1, 1961 — November 14, 2016

Gloria went to Southeast High School in Oklahoma City.  One of her first jobs was as a carhop at Hi-25 and she would later go on to own and operate her own restaurant.  Although she was a very hard working woman all her life, her top priority was her family.  Her life was dedicated to her children and her grandchildren.  Always a giver, Gloria loved to give gifts to people.  She was supportive in her words and actions, and always showed a genuine interest in the lives of those she loved.  She had a willingness to serve others with love and kindness, and many people would refer to her as a ‘second mom’ due to her nurturing and helpful personality.  Although Gloria was mostly a happy-go-lucky, fun to be around, type of person, she did experience great loss in her life.  One of the most devastating events was in losing her daughter, Shelby, in 2010.  Since then, Gloria has had deteriorating health.  Although her spirit was broken, her will to survive remained strong as she underwent countless medical procedures in an attempt to restore her health.  Her final months of life were spent living with her eldest daughter, Melissa, and family.  Gloria’s accomplishment as a mother could be clearly seen in her daughter’s character, as the roles reversed.  Gloria was shown the same patience, love and nurturing with which she raised her daughters and the circle was complete as she spent time with her grandchildren whom she preciously loved.   In the wake of Gloria’s passing there is little comfort to be found, except she is no longer suffering any physical pain.  Although bittersweet, those that she has left behind may also find some comfort in the thought that Gloria is now reunited with the many loved ones that passed before she did.  Memories of Gloria will be cherished and she will be carried forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known and loved her.

Memorial Services for longtime Oklahoma City resident Gloria A. McGuinness will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 6:30 Pm at OK Cremation and Funeral Home Chapel with JR McGraw officiating.

Gloria passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Integris Southwest Medical Center at the age of 55.
