Brother James E. Hopson was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1953 in Crystal Springs, Mississippi to George Hopson and Catherine Osborne.
Brother Hopson received his formal public education in the state of Mississippi, eventually receiving his GED. Brother Hopson served his country becoming a soldier in the US Army.
Brother Hopson repented of his sins and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of his sins and filled with the Holy Ghost. He was formerly a member of Greater First Deliverance Temple, Oklahoma City. Brother Hopson later became a member of First Deliverance Church #2 in Spencer, Oklahoma. On April 17, 2005, Brother Hopson moved his church membership to The Christ Apostolic Church (currently located in Midwest City, Oklahoma) and became a faithful member at TCAC for more than 20 years! He loved his family, his church family, his church and his pastor…and likewise Brother Hopson was loved by his family, church family, church, and pastor!
Brother Hopson worked for Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City for over 18 years and retired from there. Brother Hopson returned to work for Kiddie Village and retired from there in 2018.
Brother James Hopson was married to the lovely Sister Dietrich R. (Carolina) Hopson for 16 years. To this union was born one daughter, Sister Tanaya Hopson. He is also the father of his daughter, Sister Tanya Edwards of Atlanta, Georgia.
He is preceded in his departure by both his parents.
Brother James Ezra Hopson leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sister Dietrich Hopson; two daughters, Sister Tanya Hopson of Atlanta, Georgia and Sister Tanaya Hopson of Spencer, Oklahoma; one sister, Loretta Neal of Crystal Springs, Mississippi; two grandsons, Rodney Edwards, Jr. and Tavian Edwards; one great-son, Jayceon Edwards; two great-granddaughters, Jah'sia Edwards and Aliyah Edwards; and a host of other family members, church-family members, and friends. and a host of other family members, church-family members, and friends.
