James Melvin McLaughlin

James Melvin McLaughlin was born February 26th 1946 in Oklahoma to Oscar and Mina McLaughlin. He was an accomplished electrical engineer having graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1970 with his masters degree and valedictorian. James was a very intelligent man who spent his year dedicated to work, through Tinker Airforce Base and FAA, working on radars and airplanes and going to meetings worldwide for the government. James was a huge family man and spent his every waking moment providing for his loved ones and all of his adopted children. He adopted a total of 6 children with his wife, Ilene McLaughlin.
James loved the Sooner Football team and loved watching old western movies as he aged.
James peacefully passed March 29th, 2024 in a home surrounded by family and loved ones, children and laughter ringing in the room.
James is preceded in death by his father- Oscar McLaughlin, mother- Mina McLaughlin, brother- Sterling McLaughlin, brother- Orval McLaughlin, and brother Clyde McLaughlin.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years- Ilene McLaughlin, Son -Robert McLaughlin, Daughter- Rowan McLaughlin, Daughter- Diedre McLaughlin, and Daughter- Kaitlin McLaughlin. As well as 3 great grandsons.
