James E. Camper was born April 17, 1936, in Wilmington, Delaware.
He graduated from Howard High School in 1955 and entered the United States Airforce where he honorably served and retired after 22 years of service. During his career he received numerous awards. Shortly after retiring from the military, he worked at General Motors in Oklahoma City until 2006.
He was affectionately known to his family as " Jimmy " friends as "JC", and "Mr. Camper".
James and his wife Masa were pioneers for SGI in Oklahoma City, which he was a member of SGI for over 55 years. SGI was the foundation of his life. He enjoyed volunteering at the Community Center and working in the bookstore. His life goal was dedicated to working toward world peace. He was a humble generous man, always willing to help anyone he could. He chanted with strength and conviction. He had a great sense of humor, and he was an inspiration to everyone!
James departed this life Sunday May 15, 2022, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City bravely enduring after a brief illness.
His wife Masa proceeded him in death, parents Otis & Virginia, brother Clarence, sister Ruth Ann, and brother Otis Jr.
He leaves to Cherish his memories his sisters: Doris Dugue', Carol Francis, Betty Anderson, Francis Marks (Larry), Linda Marks, Barbara Wilford, Karen Smith (Bryan), brother Kareem Ali (Dorothy), a host of niece's & nephew's and extended family members. Special thanks to his friends Jerry, Myong, Michiyo, Terry, and the many others who helped our brother these last few years.
