Jimmy Donnell was born on April 25, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a place that shaped the roots of a man who would go on to fill every room he entered with laughter and love. He grew up in the community that would always hold his heart, graduating from Choctaw High School with the Class of 1970.
Jimmy went on to dedicate his career to serving and protecting the people of Oklahoma, retiring as a Deputy Sheriff with the Oklahoma Sheriff's Department after many years of faithful and honorable service. He wore his badge with pride and carried the values of duty, integrity, and community with him long after he retired. Those who served alongside him knew him as a man of character, steady, dependable, and deeply committed to doing right by others.
Above all else, Jimmy was a family man. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Carmen, who was his constant companion and the love of his life. Together they built a home filled with laughter, devotion, and the kind of everyday moments that become treasured memories.
Jimmy was the proud father to four children, Sean, Alicia, Cheyenne, and Faren. He was the ultimate fun dad and leaves behind countless memories and stories that his children and their friends will be telling for years to come.
Jimmy had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was at the lake or at home, you would find him with a cup of coffee enjoying the sunrise. He was most at home in nature, unhurried, content, and at peace. So many friends and family had the privilege of spending time with him on the lake, camping or sitting around a campfire. The best conversations happened out there, far from the noise of everyday life.
But nothing lit Jimmy up quite like his grandchildren. Avery, Jaden, Sam, Natalie, Ashley, Emerson, Koltin, and Bentley were the pride of his life. He had a gift for making each of them feel like they were the most important person in the world because to him, they truly were. Many of his happiest moments were spent with them gathered close, laughing, teasing and talking.
Jimmy leaves behind a legacy written not in grand gestures, but in the quiet, steadfast ways he showed up for the people he loved and the community he served day after day, year after year. He loved so many, so well and we are all better because of him.
Jimmy took his final breath on this earth on April 22, 2026. He was immediately welcomed into the arms of Jesus. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Donnell; his children, Sean (Mary) Donnell, Alicia Wade, Cheyenne Donnell, and Faren Jenkins; two special in-laws, Trey Wade and James Jenkins; and his eight grandchildren, Avery, Jaden, Sam, Natalie, Ashley, Emerson, Koltin, and Bentley.
