John "J.R." Raymond Cupp

John Raymond Cupp “J.R.”  was born October 31st, 1952 in Shawnee, OK and passed away at the Norman Regional Medical Center due to complications with cancer on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 7:10 AM at the age of 64.  "J.R." grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He resided in Seminole, Oklahoma until 2014, then moved to his dream home in Norman, Oklahoma.

He loved life and his family deeply. He was an avid traveler, adventurer, and a man of many interests. He enjoyed working with his hands, was always repairing things and built his family's home. He was an expert at finding bargains and spotting garage sales.

J.R. is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jamie (Hurst) Cupp, twin daughters, Franci (Brent) Pittman, Jeani (Mike) Copeland, and son, Trevor (Elizabeth) Cupp. He was “Poppy” to five grandchildren (soon to be six) - Reese and Kai Copeland, Grant and Dean Pittman, and Penelope Cupp (expecting a sibling this December). He is also survived by his mother, Wilma Cupp, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, sister, Jacque (David) Jones of Ardmore, Oklahoma and brother, Jeff (Susie) Cupp of Grand Junction, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cupp, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 1pm-3pm at the NCED Conference Center at the Marriott Hotel US Postal Service Training Center, 2801 OK-9, Norman, OK, 73071. The family requests casual dress. An online condolence can be left at www.okcremation.com
