Judith "Judy" Ann (Glover) Ward

Judith "Judy" Glover Ward, 82, passed away surrounded by her family on February 11, 2022, following a battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Judy was born on June 7, 1939, in Oklahoma City to Tom & Marie Glover. She was their only daughter alongside her 3 brothers. Throughout Junior High & High School in Midwest City, she earned countless awards & honors as Majorette & Baton Twirling Champion, including Grand Champion Majorette Twirler of 1955, State Twirler Champion in 1955 & 1956 with her fire baton acts, Miss Majorette of Oklahoma in 1958, and routinely landed on the cover of national twirling & majorette magazines. Her winnings paid for college where she became the Central State Band Majorette.

Judy won the title of Miss Midwest City in both 1957 & 1958, going on to compete in the Miss Oklahoma & preliminary Miss USA pageants. She later chaperoned Miss USA pageants for several years. Later in life, she worked at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She was a talented watercolor painter and piano player.

Judy married investment banker Frank Ward on August 7, 1959. They raised 3 children & 3 grandchildren. The pair never stopped traveling the world & took cross country road trips together through their late 70s. They remained married for 63 years.

Judy will be remembered for her signature laugh that lit up a room, her generous and loving spirit, and her intelligent sense of humor. She loved her family fiercely and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family & friends.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Marie Glover; her brothers, Max (Shirley) & Bobby (Angie) Glover. She is survived by her husband, Frank Ward of OKC; her brother Keith (Gail) Glover of Mustang; her children Bryan Ward, Michelle Hood (Troy), and Melinda Ward; grandchildren Kaycee Rutland Orvold of Atlanta, Talon Stark, and Alexandra Castleberry; great-grandchildren Quinn, Jeydon, Emma, McKinley, Dallas, and Oakley Hampton; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of Judy’s life will take place on Saturday, February 19, at 2:00pm at a private residence in Mustang, OK. The address is 1451 South Blue Haven Drive, Mustang, OK, 73064.
