Kitty Kay Berry was diagnosed with a brain tumor on June 10, 2016 and died peacefully in her home on October 26, 2016. She continued to live a proud life on her own terms throughout the illness.

Kitty was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on July 14, 1949, to Woodrow Frank Robinson and Peggy Fern (Moore) Robinson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant siblings, and her first husband John (Nick) W Bruce Jr.  She is survived by her husband Mitchell Berry of El Reno, daughter Shay Nicole Bruce and husband Jason Mewhirter of Elgin, son John W Bruce III and Lauren Renquist of Verden, daughter Chandra Tyanne Bruce and husband Steve Griggs of Mustang, stepsons Nolan Berry and Nathan Berry, grandchildren Tristan Smith, Seth Mewhirter, Molly Griggs, Ethan Mewhirter, Hazel Aliyah Berry, sister Kim Smith and husband Jim, nieces Mandy O’Dell and Jamie Munoz, nephew Beau Smith and many more relatives and friends.

Kitty graduated from Chickasha High School in 1967.  She married Nick in January 1969 and focused her attention on being a full time mother and homemaker.  Kitty attended college at USAO and graduated with honors in 1991.  It was there she met her current husband, Mitchell.  They were married in March 1992 and were inseparable until the very end.

Kitty’s children and grandchildren were the pride of her life.  She also had a long list of lifetime friends that she cherished and worked hard to stay connected to.  Kitty enjoyed roller skating, photography, interior decorating, music, shopping, cars, motorcycles, online gaming and exploring new places.

Kitty’s wishes were to be cremated and her life celebrated.  Her family will hold a Remembrance Party at her home on Sunday, November 6, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charitable cause of your choice.  Kitty’s favorite charity was St. Jude’s.
