A resident of the Alfalfa, Oklahoma area for many years, Larry Daniel Horn passed away near Eakly, Oklahoma on February 23, 2026. He was born on December 21, 1949 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Mary (Powers) and Phil Horn. After high school he served in the United States Army stationed in Korea. Upon his return he married Mary Hyde and together they had two children. Larry worked many years at the gas refinery in Maysville, Oklahoma before illness caused an early retirement. In his early years he enjoyed building large remote control model airplanes and flying them. He also enjoyed old Classic cars and restored a 1957 Chevy 4 door hardtop.
Larry asked Jesus into his heart at an early age while attending the Swan Lake Baptist Church.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day— and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing”. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Survivors include his children Cindy and husband John Francis and their three children of Oklahoma City, Rodney and his wife Olga of Conroe, Texas. Four siblings, M.G. and wife RoseAnna Horn of Elk City, Oklahoma, Thelma and husband Bill Dotson of Mesquite, Texas, Norma Kelley of Seminole, Oklahoma and Phyllis and husband Dan Thornton of Elk City, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to greatly thank the community for the love, care and understanding you gave to Larry throughout the last many years.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to: City Rescue Mission, 800 W. California Avenue, OKC, OK 73106 or any local business who helps with medical/dental or food expense for the needy.
A “Celebration of Life” family service is pending.
Arrangements are under the direction of OK Cremation & Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
