Larry Dell Wootten

Jun 22, 1960 — Oct 18, 2026

Larry Dell Wootten, 66, of Oklahoma City, passed away on October 18, 2026. Born on June 22, 1960, Larry was a true light in this world who never met a stranger, making a new friend everywhere he went. He loved to make people laugh—usually at the expense of anyone who would listen—but his joking was always in good fun, never mean-spirited or spiteful. After high school, Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his time in the military, he attended Rhema Bible College in the early 1980s.

A talented welder and metal fabricator, Larry was an entrepreneur at heart. He owned Larry Dell’s Fence Co. in Oklahoma City, but his true professional legacy was built in the sign industry. His career began nearly 50 years ago at a sign company in Michigan, and in 1995, he founded Planet Neonin Oklahoma City. The business quickly became, and remains, a staple of the Oklahoma sign industry.

Outside of work, Larry was a passionate motorcycle rider. He was a fiercely loyal and dedicated member of the Hangmen Motorcycle Club, serving proudly as the Secretary/Treasurer of the OKLA chapter in central Oklahoma at the time of his passing. He lived for riding into new adventures and hanging out with his club brothers. Yet, the only thing he loved more than his club brothers and his motorcycle was his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dalton Wootten; his mother, Hilda Coombs; his brother, Gerald Wootten; and his nephew, Joshua Wootten. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy Jo Wootten; his daughter, Lyndsy Wootten; his son Anthony Hunt; his daughter Ashlee Testerman; his son Dustin Testerman; his cherished grandchildren, Gavin Motes and Leila Miller; and his beloved dog, Preslee.
