Lawrence “Larry” John Milvo, Age 76, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2025. He did not suffer any prolonged pain or suffering.
Larry was born at the Army hospital in Ft. Hood near Killeen, Texas on December 26, 1949, the son of John Milvo and Irene (Ible) Milvo. Larry graduated from Pryor High School before joining the United States Navy and serving his country in the Vietnam War. Following his service and honorable discharge, he attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Larry married Norma (Drake) on September 21, 1986, in Oklahoma City. His wife and his children were his primary passion in life, but Larry truly cared for all of those who crossed his path; to meet him was to know him. His capacity for love and friendship will carry on long past his death.
Affectionately referred to only as “Milvo” by so many, Larry loved sports and the associated fellowship greatly. The Sooners were near and dear to his heart, and he loved baseball (Mickey Mantle the most) in every form. Larry loved telling stories and making others laugh. He felt most like himself when bringing joy to others.
Larry had a long and varied career but was most satisfied with his work in the grocery business. Larry took pride in serving others, even in a professional capacity. His attention to detail and commitment to enthusiasm were infectious to those around him.
Preceding Larry in death are parents John and Irene. Remaining to cherish Larry’s memory are wife, Norma Milvo; children, Allyson, Jeffrey, and Zach Milvo; stepchildren, Amy Roe and Jillian Parker; brother, Mike; sisters, Pat Herring, Heidi McAnulty, Kat Milvo, Betsy Milvo, Nancy Turner, and Anna Clemenson; grandchildren, Chris, Isaiah, Vyktoria, Morgan, Haley, Eva, Carsyn and Brantley; and great-grandson Saint.
Memorial donations in Larry’s memory may be directed to the Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation.
