Louvenia "Lee" Rosalee (Statton) Ardrey

February 27, 1935 — August 21, 2020

Louvenia (Lee) Rosalee Ardrey, nee Statton, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2020.  Louvenia, aka Lee or Beanie, was born February 27th, 1935 in Tuttle, Oklahoma, resided in San Francisco, CA, Moore, OK and finally Oklahoma City.  She was the youngest of 8 and the only daughter to Clara Statton Lindemann and David W. Statton.  She was instrumental in establishing a girl’s basketball team for Newcastle High School and loved singing and dancing!  She never backed away from a good argument and almost always won!  She was a fiercely loyal friend, wife and mother. She passed away from complications from Parkinson disease and will be greatly missed.

As a member of the Sooner Sensations chapter of Sweet Adelines, she spent many happy years singing and performing barbershop music! She also took much pride in being a square dancer and round dancer and made all her own dresses. She raised three amazing daughters: Melinda Mercker Parsons, Andrea Mercker Boyd, and Carissa Ardrey Rone.  She is survived by all three daughters and sons-in-law; Danny Parsons and Rusty Boyd, grandsons Jonathan James Marsicano, Nicholas Anthony Marsicano and granddaughter, Taylor Dey Rone and granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Marsicano.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Joyce Statton and many cousins, nieces and nephews across the country.

She loved music and dancing, puzzles, reading, traveling and playing with her grandkids!  She loved playing board games and could be quite fierce at Uno, 99 and Tripoley. She never lost a game of gin rummy to anyone! She loved going to her family reunions and even when she couldn't speak easily, she told her daughter, Andrea, that going to the 2018 reunion was extremely special and she loved seeing everyone having fun and loving each other.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Clara Lindemann, father David W. Statton, stepfather Fred Lindemann, brothers, ET Statton, Lloyd Statton, Marion Statton, Vernon Statton, Calvin Statton, Earl Statton and Tommy Statton.

We will be having a celebration of life in the near future.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma in her name.

We will miss you so much Beanie, Mom, Sister, friend.  The world has lost a truly amazing woman.

Arrangements are under the direction of OK Cremation & Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
