Margaret Ellen Shepard

October 26, 1944 — November 14, 2025

Oklahoma City

Margaret "Meg" Ellen Muir Shepard, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer's.

Born on October 26, 1944, in Harrison, Michigan to Robert Waugh and Miriam Blanche Muir. She graduated from Narimasu High School in 1962 which was located in Japan. She was the oldest of her siblings and moved around a lot due to her father's career in the Air Force.

In the late 1960s she settled in Oklahoma where it became her forever home. She attended Central State University and had a successful career working in finance for banks and mortgage companies.

Meg had a passion for many things in life such as cooking, baking, cake decorating and sewing. She enjoyed making anything from clothing and quilts to curtains. She also enjoyed crocheting and painting ceramics. Meg found a new passion teaching adults how to read that never had the opportunity to learn. But the hobby she enjoyed the most was gardening. She became a master gardener where she shared her love of growing fruits, vegetables and flowers with others. Her gardens were always neatly tended, and they were designed to have a lot of butterflies and flowers as well as provide shelter for some of her pet turtles. She also made a loving home for many dogs and cats over the years.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Meg Shepard is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Miriam Muir.

Meg is survived by her son Everett Warren and his wife Sarah; grandchildren Emily Warren, Eilidh Warren, Rachel Stuck, Rebekah Stuck and one great-granddaughter Valentina Dickinson. She is also survived by her four sisters Elizabeth Spencer, Jane Smith, Nancy Shue, Mary Wiebusch and one brother Richard Muir.

One way you can honor her memory is to donate to Friends for Life Animal Society, https://www.okfflas.org/
