Melvin Thomas Miller, known as Tom, passed away in the early hours of August 8, 2026. He was a good man who lived a good life, and he loved until his heart stopped.
He faced his passing with grace, dignity, poise, and strength, taking care of his loved ones until his final breaths.
Born in El Reno on February 7, 1954, and raised on the family farm in Calumet before moving to Chickasha where he attended high school, Tom moved to Norman in 1973 where he later married and raised 2 beloved daughters.
He provided consistently for his family through work he found satisfying and stimulating as an electrical engineer, designing medical equipment and later digital tools at firms in the OKC metroplex for decades.
Long after the death of his first daughter and first marriage, he was blessed to be reunited with his high school sweetheart after 50 years. Their love reignited, and they enjoyed a few happy and peaceful years of marriage together in what would be his poetic final chapter.
He was a skilled woodworker, handy man, and tinkerer with a great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by cherished daughter Kate, mother Cecelia Alice, father Melvin Clifford, and brother Mike.
He will be missed by dearest daughter Sara, brother Jerry, sister Sandy, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Beloved wife Theresa, mother-in-law, stepson, treasured stepdaughters and their spouses and children.
