Michael Lee Vasquez

December 11, 1969 — October 2, 2024

Oklahoma City

Michael Lee Vasquez was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 2, 2024. He was born December 11, 1969 to Vera and Pedro Vasquez in Abilene, Texas. Michael's devout Christian faith and love for his family were his top priorities. He was a caring husband, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend, and brother in Christ.

His family will cherish fond memories of Michael's witty sense of humor and stubbornness. He was always right and never wrong! Michael had a tender, generous heart. He would offer help to those in need and was a great conversationalist. He enjoyed discussing his faith, his family, the Dallas Cowboys, and reminiscing about his late sister, Cheryl, or his angel as he referred to her. Michael's spirit shined through his love for the Lord, his youthful joy, and his desire to make this world a better place. Michael lived in the moment and did not take the love of his family for granted. He always enjoyed a good meal with his family and friends especially around the holidays.

Michael is survived by wife, Elisa Meely, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, mother, Vera Aguilar, and stepfather, Armando Aguilar, of Midland, Texas, daughter, Randella Bear, and husband, Elijah, of Oklahoma City, sister, Pamela Vasquez, of El Paso, Texas, brother, Pete Vasquez and wife, Margaret, of Arlington, Texas, sister, Melissa Vasquez, of Midland, stepbrother, Doyle Story, of Honey Grove, Texas, stepsister, Debbie Langbehn and husband, Bill, of El Paso, and stepbrother, Richard Story, of Midland. Michael was a doting grandfather survived by granddaughter, Shayna Bear, and grandsons, Damon Meely and Jayden Meely, of Oklahoma City, and great granddaughter, Gianna Bear. Michael was a proud uncle and survived by nieces, Christina Eudy, Crystal Vasquez, Destany Blevins, Karissa Brito, Aliana Jimenez, and Miranda Ornelas, and nephews, Bruce Story, Christopher Parks, and Casey Baker. Michael was also loved by his sister-in-law, Cassandra Russell, sister-in-law, Tina Vasquez, several great nieces and nephews, his dear cat, Baby Girl and a host of friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Vasquez, stepmother, Ellen Vasquez, and his angel, Cheryl Vasquez.
