Otis Melvin McDonald, Jr.

Otis Melvin McDonald, Jr. was born July 28, 1953 in Dallas, Texas. He was the third oldest of six children of Hattie Mae and Otis M. McDonald, Sr. Otis went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Otis received his educational studies in Oklahoma City Public Schools. He graduated from Frederick A. Douglass High School in 1972 and later attended Oklahoma City Community College. He met Sheryl Davis on July 12, 2018 and they were later married on August 23, 2021.

Otis held a government position for the City of Oklahoma City for over 29 years. He retired on September 22, 2018.

Otis was preceded in death by his father, mother, two grandfathers, two grandmothers, three sisters and one nephew.

Leaved to cherish Otis’s memory are his wife, Sheryl Davis-McDonald of the home; two stepsons, Alex Gates and Darius Gates (Gretchen); three step grandchildren, Jaylonn Shaw, Darius “DJ” Gates and Raya Gates; two brothers, Theodore Randall McDonald and Charles McDonald all of Oklahoma City and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Otis was always friendly, and he did not ever meet a stranger. He will be greatly loved and missed by all.
