Pauline Dunlap Subia, loving mother and grandmother passed away on April 10, 2021 at the age of 100 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Pauline was born on June 8, 1920 in Binger, Oklahoma to Julia Chun-Hut Edge and Harrison Dunlap. She was named after her grandmother, Pauline Washington and was the great-granddaughter of Caddo chief George Washington.
Pauline was raised on a farm south of Binger. As a girl, she attended school at Riverside Indian School. In 1944, she married Benito Garcia Subia and they raised their family in Caddo County. After her husband passed away in November of 1963, Pauline attained a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Pauline was a talented quilter and made beautiful quilts throughout her lifetime. She loved to travel and to visit her children and grandchildren in Oklahoma and across the United States.
She is preceded in death by one daughter Myrna Lynn Lee, grandson Bryce Bigfoot, her husband, parents, and beloved grandmother Pauline Tin-Hue Washington.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Otto) Martinez, Ronald F. Subia, Ralph N. Subia, Dolores Subia Bigfoot, Richard B. (Peggy) Subia, and John E. (Cliff) Subia, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Binger Church of God in Binger, Oklahoma for more information please call Carolyn Martinez (580)819-1954
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Taysha Funds, which funds The Caddo Heritage Museum.
