In the very early hours of Friday, November 6, 2020, Peggy Beasley peacefully left her earthly house.
Peggy Joyce Beasley was born to Willie Austin Beasley and Ada Idell-Robinson-Beasley on July 5, 1942 in Beeville, Texas. After the passing of her mother at an early age, she was raised by her loving aunt, Addie Hall.
She loved going to church, and especially singing in the church choir. When she moved from Texas to Oklahoma, she not only immediately found a church, but she found one having the same name as her church in Corpus Christi, Texas: Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where she also sang in the choir, and attended faithfully until her health failed.
Peggy was a well known, and well respected community leader. Each school year, she made sure that many children in the housing projects of Corpus Christi, Texas had school shoes.
Her community involvement earned her nation-wide recognition, and an award from the former US Attorney General, Janet Reno.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Ada Idell Beasley, her father Willie Austin Beasley, her beloved aunt, Addie Hall, her son Arnold Beasley and her granddaughter, Michelle Garcia.
She leaves to mourn four children, Robert Beasley Sr. of Flower Bluff, Texas, Bobby Beasley of Corpus Christi, Texas, Norma-Beasley-Rice of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Sheree-Jones-Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida, and a dear son in love, Mark Jackson, 17 Grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
