Born during the turbulent time of early World War II. Raylene was born to loving parents. Her father was killed during the war and her mother died when she was very young. With her sister they moved from family member to family member, until at last she came to stay with her Grandmother Lauderdale.
- Raylene grew up a child of the 40’s and 50’s. She attended school, graduated High School, and attended Fresno City College where she met her future husband, Harold Lampson. They fell in love, dated for a while, and eventually were married.
- The first child born of this union was Bryan Lampson, followed by Martin Lampson, then Steven Lampson. All three boys were born and raised in Fresno, CA. We spent the majority of our young lives on Magill Street in North Fresno where our parents owned a home. Raylene and Harold would eventually divorce, but we stayed living on Magill Street. Raylene spent a great deal of her life working for the Fresno Hilton as the Night Manager. After we boys were older Mom sold the Magill Street home and moved to her beloved Oakhurst, CA. Mom so loved the mountains, especially Yosemite and would have lived her whole life there had the wind not destroyed her home. Raylene loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved gardening, and watching the birds and squirrels play in her water fountain. Raylene lived to be 82 years old and has a good life, a loving family, and close friends. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her sons and their wives who let her know how much she was loved and how much we would miss her. She passed quietly in her sleep.
