Altus

Rebecca (Becky) L. Streeter of Altus, OK was born on April 7, 1954, in San Francisco, California to Ysidro Gutierrez and Jean Hawk (both deceased) on the Golden Gate Bridge in a cab! She was a healthy 7-pound baby!

Becky grew up in Tucson, Arizona with her two sisters and one brother. Her dad had remarried and her stepmom Alyce (deceased) raised her from the time she was two years old. When she was in her early 20's: she moved to Juneau, Alaska where she lived for 8 years. She found her way to Altus, Oklahoma with her husband (deceased) who was stationed at Altus AFB. She worked on base as a civilian as a support service specialist and then a technical orders clerk for a total of 21 years and finally retired on May 31, 2022

Becky owned her own accounting business where she prepared tax returns. She loved accounting and was earning her business doctorate so she could teach accounting online. She was about a year from graduating with honors.

Becky loved animals. She had goats, chickens, dogs and cats on her property. She joked often that she had two full time jobs, working on base and taking care of all her animals.

When Becky was in high school, she was a member of the choir and when she was 18 years old Becky had been encouraged to enter a beauty pageant and sing for the talent portion of the competition. Although she did very well she did not make the finals, but at least she tried!!

Being the determined and strong woman that she was, Becky belonged to a woman's club that emphasized and encouraged women to own their own business. She won an award for excellence for her business capabilities and aptitude.

Becky worked hard all her life and had many plans for her future after retiring.

Survivors include her sisters Debra M Bryan, Catherine Fletcher-Ross and husband Steve, brother Carlos Y Gutierrez and his wife Kari. Many cousins including Eleanor Espinoza and her husband Paul and Anthony Gutierrez and his wife Genene, many nieces and nephews; Josh Bryan, Michele Lollar and her husband John, Alexa Thornton and her wife Emily, and Ben Fletcher.

Becky will be missed by many. May she rest in peace.
