Richard Wayne Allen

Richard “Dick” Allen, 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017 after battling heart issues for three months. Dick was born to the late Russell and Ferne Allen in Lawrence, MI on September 14, 1935. His family later moved to Des Moines, IA where Dick grew up and attended North High School. Shortly after he joined the Marine Corp, and served in the Korean War. After his time in the Marine Corp, Dick joined the Rock Island Railroad and Santa Fe Railroad where he worked a combined 44 years. During his time on the railroad he met his wife Mary, and they were later married on August 14, 1974.
Dick is survived by his wife Mary Allen; his son Jonathan Lewis and wife Lisa Lewis; his daughter Tina Edwards; Sister Sharon Vasquez and husband Sal; Brother Robert Allen and wife Sandy; grandchildren Kayla Grammer and husband Hunter Grammer, Kaci Edwards, Bethany Lull, Jonathan Lewis Jr., and great granddaughter Aubrey Grammer.
A memorial service will be held for Dick on Dec. 29th at 10:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, OK with a reception to follow. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Dick’s life.
