Comanche

Rodney K. Raney passed into glory on January 5, 2026, in Comanche, Oklahoma.

Rodney was a devoted child of God who sought to live in obedience to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His life reflected a quiet faith expressed through honest work, humility, and genuine love for others. Rodney proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Following his military service, the place that truly held his heart was the Higdon Ranch. Surrounded by open land and God’s creation, Rodney found peace, purpose, and joy. He took great delight in caring for the land and the animals entrusted to him, and ranch life reflected his deep appreciation for God’s handiwork.

Later, Rodney worked as a heavy artillery mechanic at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He took great pride in maintaining military equipment and ensuring it was always in proper working order, understanding that the safety of soldiers depended on the care and diligence he put into his work. He approached this responsibility with dedication and integrity and deeply valued the lasting friendships he formed there.

Rodney is deeply missed by his loving wife, Sherrie; his son and best man, Phill Brennan; his cherished granddaughter and partner in crime, Hannah Brennan; his Meridian Church family; and his beloved canine companion, Lilly Belle, who was never far from his side.

Rodney will be remembered for his warm heart, quiet strength, and simple child-like faith. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of devotion to God, love for family, and a life faithfully lived in service to others.

A memorial service celebrating Rodney’s life and faith will be held at Meridian Church in Comanche, Oklahoma.
