Ronald Joseph Ventresca, known to many as Ron, passed away on August 31, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 68. Ron was born on June 9, 1956, in Pittsburgh, PA, where he spent his childhood and graduated from Mount Lebanon High School. He later moved to Los Angeles, California, to attend California State University, Los Angeles, where he eagerly pursued his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer. It was in L.A. that he met the love of his life, Debbie, whom he married in July of 1978.

Ron dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community as a career police officer, a role he held with honor and integrity. Beyond his professional life, Ron was an avid reader of crime novels, a lover of boardgames, and diligently solved his daily crossword puzzles, a pastime that reflected his sharp mind and love for challenges.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; his sister, Joanne; and his five children: Zachary, and wife Diane Ventresca; Lindsey, and husband Justin Hartsell; Nicholas and wife Sierra Ventresca; Marcus, and Heidi. Ron was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Alyssa and Mariah Caribardi, Pixie and Phoenix Hartsell, and Nicholas Jr., Jarrette, Jagger, and Jamison Ventresca.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 5th, at 10:00 A.M. in the Memory Garden at Will Rogers Park, 3400 NW 36th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73112, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Ron's life with a memorial service and reception.

Ron will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and community, his keen intellect, and his fun-loving spirit. His legacy of service and love will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing him. In his memory, his family asks that we all take a moment to appreciate the simple joys in life, just as Ron did each day.
