Shelly Jeannene Edwards

Shelly Jeannene Edwards, 65, passed peacefully at her home on November 30, 2025, surrounded by love. She was born on August 4, 1960, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Melvin Frank Leedom and Peggy Fern Kennedy. Shelly was a devoted mother to her daughters, Samantha Valencia and Sarina Clark, and a proud grandmother to Aevin of Moore, Jack of Tuttle, and Carter of Moore, Oklahoma. Her love for them was fierce, steady, and unconditional. She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Charles Clark and Curtis Walters, and former son-in-law Jonathan Valencia.

She was a cherished sister to Greg Leedom and Deana Bridges, and a beloved aunt to Grant, Rex and Phoebe Bridges and Ross Leedom. Among those who stood faithfully by her side were Barb Bue, Berva Wood and Freddie Still—friends who became family through loyalty, love, and shared life.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, Peggy Fern Kennedy and Melvin Frank Leedom, and her uncle, Melton Kerr. Shelly lived with an adventurous heart. She loved sunshine on her skin, water at her feet, flowers in bloom, and the joy of creating with her hands. She embraced new adventures, laughed easily, and had a rare gift for making others feel seen. Authentic and unapologetically herself, Shelly lived life on her own terms—and because of that, she was deeply admired and profoundly loved. In the days leading up to her passing, Shelly said she was not afraid to die because she was leaving this world without any “W’s.” When asked what she meant, she said: “I have no more wonders, no more whys, no more worries. I’m at peace.” proving a life fulfilled. A Celebration of Life honoring Shelly will be held at a later date, following the holiday season. Details will be shared when arrangements are finalized. Shelly’s legacy lives on through her family, her faith, and the countless hearts she touched. We find comfort knowing she is now whole, healed, and at peace.
