Sherrie Lynn Chesney passed away on Friday July 1st, surrounded by family and friends in Oklahoma City, OK.  Born Sherrie Lynn Kirkley to Philip and Christine Kirkley on September 14th 1962, she was followed by one sister Sandra Kay Kirkley in January 1964.  Sherri grew up in Del City, OK but moved with her family to Woodward, OK in 1979.  She graduated from Woodward High School in 1980, and married Carl Chesney.  They had one son, DeWayne Chesney, before they divorced.  Sherri never remarried, but was with her partner Michael Holladay for 13 years until her passing.  She spent most of her life working in customer service before she was ultimately unable to work after a car accident in the early 2000s.   Undeterred by her constant pain she lived life through its ups and downs, making many friends both in person and online.  She spent the last few years of her life living with her mother helping her take care of her grandmother, even though she herself had issues walking on some days.  She had an infectious smile, especially when her grandkids were running around and climbing all over her.  Sherri spent many hours thinking of ways to spoil her grandkids and bragged about them constantly to anyone who would listen, and even to some who wouldn’t.  Sherri had the largest heart, and would give her last dollar to make someone else happy.  Even in her final months, she thought only of others and would spend her time at the hospital shopping for her grandkids, even if she was unable to get out of bed that day.

Sherrie is survived by her grandmother, Ibra Farmer, mother, Christine Kirkley, sister, Sandi Kirkley, and numerous cousins.  Also, her son and his wife, DeWayne and Lauren Chesney.  She had two grandkids, Lillian and Oliver Chesney, and 2 Nephews Ryan Jackson and John Phillip and a grand nephew, Garrett Jackson, that she loved as her own kids and grandkids.
