Sparkles Deontae Hooks

Sparkles Deonte Hooks was born on March 2, 1995, to Carey Hooks and Alvina Hooks.

From an early age, she displayed a vibrant spirit and a love for learning. She began her educational journey at Dana Brown Cooper and later attended Tail Star Elementary and Willowbrook Elementary Schools. She continued her education at Rogers Middle School before graduating from Star Spencer High School as a proud member of the Class of 2013, where she was also an active participant in the school band.

Following high school, Sparkles briefly attended Oklahoma Christian College and earned a certificate in Childhood Development from Metro Technology Center. Although her path later led her in different directions, she remained committed to serving others throughout her life.

A woman of deep faith and extraordinary musical talent, Sparkles was an active member of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ. There she faithfully participated in the Sunshine Band, Children's Choir, and ministered through song, performing solos throughout the state. Her gifted voice touched many lives and earned recognition across Oklahoma. She later shared her talents with the choir at Page Sanctuary. At the time of her transition, she was honored to be a Watch Care Member of Tabitha Baptist Church.

Sparkles dedicated many years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), demonstrating compassion and care for those in need. At the time of her transition, she was employed as an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician at the VA Hospital, where she continued her commitment to serving others with excellence and kindness.

Sparkles leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted family: her father, Carey Hooks, and bonus mother, Veletta Hooks; her biological mother, Alvina Gaines; her godmother, Chandra Johnson; and her two beloved daughters, Aries Hooks and Adaliah Hooks, who were the pride and joy of her life.

She is also survived by her brothers, Gregory Hooks, Randy Jones, Brady Gaines, and bonus brother, Ed Seward; her sister, Lacara Hooks; bonus sisters, Felicia Seward, Javette Davis, Brianna Jones, and Chantel Seward; and a special cousin, Laura Williams of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Sparkles was preceded in death by her two grandmothers, two grandfathers, one aunt, three uncles, and one precious nephew.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, music, and light she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit, warm smile, and caring nature touched countless lives and created memories that will never fade.

Today, we celebrate the life of Sparkles Deontae Hooks and give thanks for the impact she made on her family, friends, church family, and community. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she leaves behind.
