Thomas Hulon Jackson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas H Jackson, who departed from us on June 14, 2025, at the age of 76. He left this world surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and cherished memories.

Tom was born on May 3, 1949, in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Wanda and Hulon Jackson. He spent his childhood in Tucumcari, New Mexico and Amarillo, Texas, before moving to Moore, OK, where he graduated from high school and in 1968, joined the Air Force, serving for 4 years. He spent years of his adult life battling mental illness. Throughout his journey, Tom exemplified resilience in the face of challenge. He finally found peace in the last years of his life. Tom lived a life defined by compassion and pursuit of knowledge.

He is preceded in death by his mother Wanda Burris, father Hulon Jackson, maternal grandparents Thomas and Velma Starritt, paternal grandmother Winnie Sherrod, and brother Jack D. Jackson.

He is survived by two daughters, Adrienne Williams and her husband John of New York, and Kristy Rodriquez and her husband Dominic of Texas. Also, surviving Tom are his sister, Marsha Daggs and husband Van of Oklahoma, brother Chase Burris and wife Karen of Texas, his aunt Jane Binford and husband Neil of Texas, and his grandchildren, great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great-great grand nieces and nephews.

Though Tom may no longer walk among us, his memory will forever reside in the stories we share, and the love he gave so freely. As we say goodbye, we hold on tightly to the comfort that he is now at peace. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A memorial service for Tom will take place on July 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Barnes church of Christ 6001 Gardner Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73150

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local humane society in honor of Tom’s love of animals.
