Allan Wayne Brown

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

Billings

Allan Wayne Brown was born on December 28, 1948 to Beulah Jane Matthiesen Brown and Lawrence Hugo Brown in Enid, Oklahoma. He took his leave from this Earthly life on June 28, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

Allan lived all his years in Billings, Oklahoma where he went to school and graduated from Billings High School in 1967. Shortly after, he continued his education in Oklahoma City at Southwest Automotive School receiving his completion certificate the next year.

On July 19, 1968, he married his soulmate, his rock, solid support and partner in crime, Lee Ann Bishop. They moved into his small family home and began their life together. Later that year, Allan joined the Army National Guard and served as a unit supply specialist. Over the years, not only did the size of the home grow but, so did their family. In March of 1969, Mark Allan was born into the world. In October of 1970, Darryl Wayne was born and then September of 1974 Traci Ann. In 1975, Allan was discharged from the National Guard having completed his requested service time and opened the doors of B&B Repair with Lee Ann’s father, Ray Bishop. That same year, he also joined the Billings Fire Department. He served from 1975-2000, and proudly the last 5 of those years as fire chief. Then in 1978, along came Connie Jo and the family was complete.

Allan loved a great many things, but he had an ingrained need to farm. He raised cattle and pigs on the Brown family farmland, as well as growing wheat. He taught his children how to do everything adult life required from baiting a hook, tending animals, changing a tire or simply being a good person.

Anyone who ever met Allan, knew that if you came to the shop for any reason, you’d get two things: a beer and a story (or possibly an off-color joke). He loved his busy life but always took time for slowing down. Every year harvest, the family would take a long vacation to Tenkiller Ferry Lake. He would get up in the morning, have his coffee and cook breakfast for everyone that came along with them, which was usually a small army. Then it was time for fun! Boating, skiing, playing in the water and going on float trips.

Allan knew how to work hard and never shied away from a task, but he also knew how to play hard. He made sure to instill those same values into his children. Lessons that they continue to pass on to their children.

Allan left quite the legacy! Not only on to his family, but to the people that knew him. He was always there with a kind word and a helping hand to anyone in need. Even when was elbow deep in an engine, he would stop and give his attention to whomever needed it. All you had to do was ask. He was a wonderful caring husband and father, a great friend to many and a staple of the Billings community. The name Allan Brown will live on forever in our hearts as a true legend in our time.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah and Lawrence “Red” Brown along with multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins, including our beloved “Aunt Dee” Andrea Matthiesen McCluskey.

He is survived by his wife Lee Ann and fur baby, Tipsy of the home; sister, Nancy of Billings and Kaw City; sons, Mark Brown of the home, Darryl Brown, and his wife Shelly of Garber; daughters, Traci Payne and her husband Michael of Tonkawa, Connie White and her husband Chad of Enid; grandchildren, Alex Brown and his wife Devon, ShyAnne Lucas and her husband Shane, Nicholas Payne and his wife Molly, Jacob Brown and his wife Brandy, Christopher Payne, Daniel Wacker, Katelyn Hopkins, and James Hopkins; step-grandchildren, Colton, Brianna, Jaxon, one great-granddaughter, Miss Everlee Lucas and a host of other family and friends.
