Barbara Gayle (Babb) Eggert

June 5, 1941 — October 5, 2021

Piedmont

Barbara Gayle Eggert was born on June 5, 1941, to Frances and Jewett Babb, in Poteau, Oklahoma. Even though their permanent residence was in NW Oklahoma City, Barbara spent most of her early summers in Poteau, at her Grandmother Babb’s house. Those were special days spent playing outside and sleeping on the screened in porch with her Aunt Wanda and Cousin Saundra, who were more like sisters to her. Throughout the summer, year after year, more cousins would arrive to join in the fun at Grandmother’s house.

Later on, family vacations were spent fishing at lakes in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Minnesota. Barbara (friends called her Babo) enjoyed attending Putnam City High School and learned secretarial skills there. She married Dorn Weaver and a year later Lisa was born, in 1960.  While Dorn studied engineering, Barbara worked as a secretary for OSU. They later moved to St Charles, Missouri, where Lori was born in 1964. Barbara was a full time Mom and enjoyed cooking, sewing and Christmas. Later she gave birth to Chris in 1969, who later in life would become her best friend. Dorn and she would later divorce, but eventually became friends again. Their blended families had many fun holiday parties, and good times were had by all. In 1970 she married Jim Eggert and a year later in 1971, Lisa and Lori were so excited when James Bartley Eggert was born, and sweet Nichole arrived in 1977. Barbara was a very busy Mom with 5 children, and always loved her children very much.

Barbara later enjoyed a career working for AOL, and Sprint, as a technical support tech and was always up on all the latest technology. She loved her pets, Sophie and Zoe. She later lived with her Mom and best companion, Frances. They enjoyed watching football, going to the casino, and watching “The Bachelor”. They also enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas and an Alaskan cruise. Barbara later in life lived with son, James and Nathalie, and vacationed in Destin, FL with Nichole, Matt and family. Barbara always deeply loved her children and wished her health had been better, so she could have enjoyed more time with all of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewett and Frances Babb, her children Lori Jameson and Christopher Weaver and grandson, Cody Jameson.

She is survived by her children and their spouses. Lisa and Grant Bailey, James and Nathalie Eggert, and Nichole and Matt Nelson, and her aunt, Wanda King, her cousin Sharon Davis and cousin/lifelong friend Saundra Vallejo Delgado and many other beloved cousins. Grandchildren are Linden Bailey, Nathan Bailey, Aaron Bailey, Jeremy Jameson, Trey Jameson, Gilbert Johnson, Christopher Weaver, Sinthia Weaver, Kaylee Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Lailah Nelson, Liam Nelson and Calista Eggert.

Great-grandchildren include Audra Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey, Mica Bailey, Naomi Bailey, Lori Jameson, Waylon Jameson, Addilyn Jameson, Brayleigh Weaver, Christopher Weaver III, Bradley Vance, Maverick Johnson, Hagan Johnson, Kason Ray, Kashton Masar and Ryken Thompson.

Barbara passed away on October 3, 2021 at 11:55 P.M. surrounded by her children and other loving family members.
