Carolyn Dale (Boone) Rogers

It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Dale (Boone) Rogers announces her passing on January 23, 2021, at the age of 68.

Carolyn struggled with congestive heart failure and diabetes.

Carolyn was born and raised in Anadarko and lived most of her life in the Oklahoma City area. Her lifelong career was in the food service industry, as cooking was a great accomplishment to her. Carolyn was a compassionate and selfless woman. She is well known for putting others needs before her own. Carolyn will be remembered for her fabulous cooking. She could walk into anyone’s kitchen and make a meal fit for a king with whatever she found in the cupboards. If you ever locked lips on her sweet potatoes you knew there was a heaven. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She delighted in pulling practical jokes on her friends and family, often leaving everyone in tearful laughter. She had endearing facial expressions that seem to light every room she entered. Her interests included watching horror movies, cooking, and collecting Betty Boop memorabilia. Carolyn loved to love on people.  She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver for family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Boone, and a brother, Johnny Carol Boone.

She is survived by her son, Dale Melton, of Temple, Texas, her father and stepmother, Dale Boone and Janice Lavene of Fort Cobb Oklahoma,  brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Marva Boone of Mustang Oklahoma, sister, Karlya Boone of Leesburg, Virginia, and brother, Keith Boone, of Oklahoma City. She had three grandchildren: Taylor Davis of Oklahoma City, Kendale Melton of Florida, Karley Melton of Florida, and two great grandchildren, JaRee King of Oklahoma City and Carleigh Houben, of Florida.
She is also survived by her forever friend, Patricia Brice of Oklahoma City.

There will be no official services due to Covid restrictions. An informal memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021  at 1:00pm at Memory Lane Cemetery  in Anadarko Oklahoma for family and friends.
